Mission
Ross Valley Fire Department serves the towns of Ross, San Anselmo and Fairfax, together with the Sleepy Hollow Fire Protection District, in central Marin County. Three stations across San Anselmo and Fairfax cover an environment that mixes developed neighborhoods with wildland-urban interface terrain, much of the surrounding land undeveloped wildland, watershed and open space, so the department responds to both structural and wildland fire. Its work spans emergency medical services at paramedic and advanced life support level, fire suppression, extrication and heavy rescue, hazardous materials handling, wildland-urban interface firefighting, fire prevention, public education and fire investigation.
